I have heard that by purchasing fuel with a company credit card at the big chain truck stops (Love's, Pilot, etc) a driver can rack up points at these places which can be used for showers, meals, and even motel rooms.. is this true? anyone can answer me please

Most chains have a card that you collect points on. Usually one point per gallon of fuel, and you get a free shower with a purchase of 50 gallons of fuel. I don't think there is any way to get hotel rooms, but you can save up points to use in the store or restaurant.

Some of the TA's have motels attached to them. Maybe you can use your points toward that, although why I don't know. They usually look pretty horrible from the outside.

Thanks both of you!

Yupper! Free eats, drinks and showers on those cards. Pilot has the best points program, that's my belief anyway. All depends on where your company wants you to fuel at though.

yes. 1 penny per gallon of fuel, and one free shower (to be used within between a few days to a week for 50-75 gal minimum. ta also runs promotions where you get double points for a month once or twice every year, so i dunno how the other guy figures pilot is the best. in my experience, they are all the same with the exception of the double points thing. i prefer the option of fast food to sit down restaurant, so i tend to like pilots better for eating. oh, and its NOT the credit card....you need to have a "rewards card" from each chain you will be using...make sure you have a decent sized wallet lol...the cards youll end up carrying are numerous

Yep!
Actually my co-driver just bought a GPS with his points last week! He ended up not liking and returned it and they gave him $10 extra dollars worth of points back on his card.
Not sure why or how that works.... but yes you can buy #### near anything with your points. I think the only exceptions are like alcohol and tobacco.
I rarely spend any money at all, if I grab a soda or candy bar or snack I use my points card and it always pays for it.
I believe, like the other poster said, you can also buy subway, mcdonalds etc... if there is one in the truck stop. I have yet to do it but I am pretty sure you can. -
Fuel is the other item one can not pay for with points.
