Here we go . Another student expert . FYI there have been several posts about CRE trainers altering trainees' logs . Just recently a newbie posted he drove 13 hours to his receiver on his first solo trip . Who is going to teach him how to alter that ? Experience drivers getting $.40 a mile or more aren't the ones working excess hours to survive .
Well it sounds like he either didn't know better or is just a new guy asking for it. It's nonsense to assert that experienced guys making good cpm don't pull the same stunts to spike their paycheck though. I'm a solo driver but I'll always be a student, so I don't see any reason to change my profile.
Experienced guys know any falsification can be caught using audit software and GPS records . Less and less drivers do it . They also know getting caught at it too often will get an EOBR in your truck .
Probably within a few years almost everybody will be on electronic logs anyway. The Feds are on their way to mandating it. It's pretty hard to cheat those whether you're a new guy or an old timer. Once the truck gets going down the road a certain distance, you're "on duty" even if you're just bob tailing to the supermarket for groceries. Personally I'm not looking forward to such non-sense, but you know how it goes...it's always the few who abuse the system and make life hell for everybody else.
Actually EOBR were mandated until the supreme court threw it out. Now once again we're in limbo and organizations like ooida are trying to get things straight. As of right now its illegal to have qualcoms and elogs in your truck according to how the law is written. Scott I know I didn't need to comment or even read this but I'm saying I can't believe a group of professionals is having this conversation and drugs shouldn't be. a huge subject in this industry . With the advent of mandatory and surprise drug tests this shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for the snide remark though.

Whooo Lordy..... we did get some interesting posts here. But to get back on point; it's immaterial to the original point whether any particular depressant is legal or not, nor really is it limited to drug usage. This is an example of what I was talking about. COrookie did not act responsibly. He admitted that he had been using, therefore he certainly knew that TCP stays in your system for quite awhile. Surely, he knew that testing hot will get you s--tcanned. Did he f--k up? Yup. Does he deserve to be forever gone because of that? No, not necessarily. But if I'm an employer with a whole host of other "clean" applicants to look at, guess who's gonna be on the bottom of the pile? That's just common sense. But look back through the Newbie pages. There are dozens of posts just like his. "I got popped on a test, how do I get around it". Or, "They found something in my past and I got fired. That's not fair. Waaaaa!!". Then they get all pouty when they're told the truth... and somebody chips in with "It's the government's fault, yadda,yadda,yadda.". Apparently, it's a Big Friggin' Secret so here goes; I'm letting the cat outa the bag. Trucking is a highly regulated industry. We are tested for banned substances that include pot. If you get caught you are toast or at best rotated to the sub-basement of the hiring files. If you have an active or recent criminal file you will be unable to cross the USA/Canada border or enter into sensitive places. Therefore you are very much less desirable to any company who includes these in their daily operations. This is NOT gonna change just because you and your mommy think it's unfair. There, the secret is out.
