OK, I am starting orientation with CRST on Monday, I just left CR England severely burned on their lease contract but I did get 6 months OTR with them. Personally loved the over the road experience but due to negative checks with that company I couldn't stay afloat. I should have done more research going in to the company than what I did originally but that is in the past and looking forward I want to make sure I am not just jumping from one horrible company to another. First question is I understand CRST is on paper logs so do they preach safety and then require you to cheat to make it? second what can be expected for pay, can I survive or will I be eating more hotdogs and roman noodles? Do you have to constantly bug your dispatchers to get you loads or do they usually plan ahead to keep the freight moving? Finally do they attempt to push everyone into a lease agreement or can you actually run company for this company? I have my training and some experience what I need now is a company I can drive for for the next 1-2 years that can get me the rest of the experience needed to get a good job in the trucking industry and the last thing I need is more debt from a rip off company and more problems with a my dac report because they tell me to do something and then change the rules halfway though the game

Hey World. i have found crst is what you make of it.
    1. we do paper logs and i have not had a load yet where i have had to cheat. some loads have tight transits but you just don't take a break every 2 hours. also if you need to shut down you inform dispatch. they rather you take a break then wreck the truck.
    2. you should have already been told what you are making. you need to check with the recuriter again and when you hit orentation. some recruiters lie here mine was honest but my partner got screwed.
    3. to be honest loads and preplanning depend on the distpatcher. i finally got a strong dispatcher after 1 decent and 1 weak as hell one.
    4. i never got pushed with a lease agreement and in fact if you are out of some areas they dont allow lease agreements unless you are running with your spouse. i am a company driver.
I have never had any real issue with crst. one i get my loads on done on time. and no accidents and i keep my idle time low. so they leave me alone and get me loads. but you will some horror stories from other drivers and you they might be true.

thanks for the information, I just completed orientation now waiting to be assigned to a fleet and given information about possible co-drivers, basically because I live only 90 miles from the OKC terminal they told me I could go home and wait till someone called me with further information. Although I do like the idea of coming home before heading out I really don't like the idea that I can be called at any time to hit the road. If anyone needs a good team mate please look me up.

if i went back to crst i would hit you up but im driving for werner now. Crst is a good company to go with to get your exp. Me and my teammate ran and ran hard. Just keep an eye on your pay stubs and keep track of the paid miles and make sure you know exactly how much you will be making. If you can stay away from advances.
