Yes central will finance your tuition for your training but also they ain't gonna give you a certificate until you pay back that $3000. I went to the school in fontana in november of 2013. Didn't work out for me and now I'm looking for another company. It was a pain in the ##### to get my certificate from them too. You see central has a contract with "truck driving academy" so they are two complete separate entities. Also you will get a letter from the bill collector if you decide to leave within a year. Yes that's right if you decide to leave within a year from central you better have that $3grand lieing around somewhere or else the bill collectors coming after you.

I was lucky enough for someone to front me some money and was able to get my certificate. My advice is don't go with swiftral. If I could do it all over again I would go with prime trucking. I read that prime inc is starting their new student drivers at .40cents a mile right out of school with their lightweight division. Higher pay at the expense of less room inside the truck.

"I really hate this generation of people"

Don't listen to this fool, idk what's gotten into him ...he must hate the young ones...maybe some old bitter man. All caliboy was saying is central school is cheaper than any of the other surrounding schools. There were a few people in my class that did just that and went to other companies like prime, schneider,etc... so that's actually not a bad idea. Just make sure you have $3k or else the bill collectors will come after you. Or you can go with primes training program in utah. But idk what's changed now that they are swiftral refrigerated. And by the way moosetek hate is a strong word. Unless you don't mean what you say.

certificate? what the heck is that for? You get your cdl and your good to go, you dont need a "certificate" to work somewhere else.

as for moose he isnt a bad bitter old man! He is right on the aspect that most of the younger generation does not want to work, now I dont imply that to the op but its a true statement.

The certificate is to prove you were trained at a accredited training school / company , and a newbie needs it as proof of training although they have their CDL to get employment at other companies .

You could do worse than Central/Swift, much worse. Like Werner or CR England for example. I'd go for it.

Prime doesn't have a terminal in Southern California.
