Yes update the resume; some companies want the last 3 years and some want last 10 years.
You'll see what's wanted on the job applications.
Don't let the cdl school choose a company for you; do that yourself.
Some company websites might have a "Short App", so use that and a recruiter will contact you and let you know if you qualify to be hired after graduation from cdl school. If so, the recruiter will offer you a pre-hire, based on you successfully graduating from cdl school.
Submit lots of applications; the more the better for you.

gotcha. So company websites are better than Google, Indeed & co? I was using those cause it looks like i can find more jobs there

    Upinsmoke Thanks this.

Those are ok, but many times they don't give hiring areas or any experience required. Some of those job ads have "experience required" but don't show they sometimes bend the rules for a new cdl school graduate. You can spend hours trying to figure out if you have a chance or not.
All those I listed, you should be ok for hiring.

Lay off the weed; you'll get a drug test within a couple of days after reporting to your first job.
If you test positive, you'll be sent home; fired.

Let's try to help you a little by suggesting from me to you to think rather that you are trying to "Meet and get to know" a company much better than just some remote job posting online somewhere. I once answered a post off some kind of job board here in Arkansas knowing nothing at all. CDL Driver needed. Ooookkkaayy... let's go.

Turned out to be a Auction House in Little Rock called ADESA. This was back around 2005. Needless to say I benefited greatly from that job personally rather than wages. Wages enough to cover the day's round trip gas and lunch money. Which really did not make the wife happy, but what did make her happy was I became a boss of a small crew in time and was out of the house dealing with them at work. You follow me?

Knowing nothing about a job listing is one thing, but getting to know who put it there is a benefit. For example you might discover that some corrupt Third World Chicago Volvo Damnation Express wants drivers... you want to go the other way as fast as you (And as far) as you can go.

Fine with that. Just Google and co. with all resources they have they should be able to tell me where the job is before i apply. Or let me call someone from the ad

    x1Heavy and Upinsmoke Thank this.
