Newbies, want to make $100K

That said, in an honest moment I now wish I had stayed on night line-haul here bidding one of our meet/turn runs.. Could have worked 6 to 10 hour nights just driving and swapping sets depending on which one I took.. Water under the bridge this year for me though.. It's nice doing the 8 and skate but I can already tell you with certainty that I'll be back on night line-haul next year. Just pisses me that I could have done a 6 hour night and the gate making the same money.. We do have a night meet/turn that is 6 hours too..haha..

It's not for everyone but I wish I had stayed on nights even though the money isn't a factor for me.. I'll probably take a long run next year to make the big money for the hell of it but I'll be using those meet/turns as my year off in the future.. Kinda booting myself in the #$$ right now - only 10 months left till I'm back out there with my peeps man..

In just 5 weeks I've learned I'll be on night night line-haul till I get the call for the big leagues - day line-haul.. It varies by year but I'm 9 drivers away from the bid now and should have it in the bag for my career within 7 or 8 more years..

A start time sounded nice but I need to be grinding gears and spilling coffee while cursing traffic at midnight down I95 man..

Well young man, If I was your uncle I would constantly ask you to work with me. Before you know it I would be sending you out on jobs, by yourself, and again, before you know it, you opened your own shop. Your still young, go with your dreams. I started this post to encourage young drivers to go get a job that can set you for life. I hope you do well in your future, you sound like you will make the right decisions, but just do me one favor, talk to your uncle, and your dad, to get there support. Thanks o.m.d. More than 1 way to make 100k. I do heavy haul and made 95k last year. This year I will be over 100k since I got a raise. Nice part about heavy is I don't have to run alot of miles. I do have to park for a day or 2 often, but I don't mind at all since I'm paid a flat rate per day.
