Hey Drivers, I recently sat down with a terminal manager with a flooring company for a regional job moving carpet pads. Its manual labor loading and unloading which isn't the worst thing to me but might be too much. I have no way of knowing until doing it. The terminal is 3.7 miles from the house and that is an attractive fact since I now drive 35 miles to work daily if I don't stay out.
My current job is way cooler in theory but has all but fell apart over the years. For instance, my truck has to go to the dealership (3 month average turnaround time) also this is the fourth truck in a year since someone else broke my assigned truck, its 5 years old and has a laundry list of issues, my load for tomorrow was cancelled so now I will make half the money (normal situation these days), the management is reclusive and unhelpful. It's a mess. I want to leave but throwing carpet padding wasn't exactly what I wanted to do next. I had planned to go O/O but this economy is prohibitive at best. I also wanted to do grain hauling if there is decent money in it, I have no idea because I haven't seen a job listing.
How would I find agricultural driving work if I have no family connections? East/Central Ohio.
Next Lane...

"Think outside the box"
Translation: don't "fall in love" with any one particular job -- or carrier.
Why?
There's simply too much other opportunity out there....
What other CDL endorsements do you have?
What city is closest to your location?
Are you open to other regional (or maybe even local) CDL opportunities?
