I just purchased a Galaxy 959 radio and a Firestik 4 ft NGP antenna system to mount on a fiberglass body RV.......
Question is can I tune this NGP antenna with a reg GP jumper coaxial cable?

    any thoughts?

    thanks in advance..

I think you must use the coax that was supplied with antenna. The ground plane is built into the coax.AFAIK.

So I need a NGP jumper coaxial to use with the SWR meter in order to tune a NGP antenna?
Makes sense but why doesn't Firestik include a jumper with their NGP antenna kit? They do say it must be used only with their special cable, but no word about the swr meter jumper coaxial....

Thanks for the help, guess I'll track down a NGP 3 ft jumper to use with my SWR meter....

Well I have never used the NGP antenna but I would ASSume that since it says the 17 foot piece of coax is the "matching system" then a 3 foot piece of regular coax to check SWR would be fine. The worst you would do is see a high SWR then you would know.

They have a phone number, 602-273-7151 to contact them, give em a call

Thanks, Happy Hamer, I'll do just that......
CB shop says its OK to use the regular coaxial for tuning, but Firestik web site says must be NGP coaxial cable.... no mention of tuning other than it must be done....

    Thanks again

There's no such thing as a NGP 3 ft jumper.
