Did you ask about a motel room? I'm from the TX Gulf Coast, I fully understand Louisiana heat and humidity, and I'd be in a motel even if I didn't get reimbursed.

My suggestion is to forcefully ask for a motel room (on their dime), and then look for another company, since summer really isn't even here yet.

Exactly, good suggestion that worked in my Volvo at Total - leave the tractor brakes in, trailer brake out...the truck thinks it's sitting at a stoplight.

i dont understand i gues at what temp does it requare to idle, i had a prostar and only time it die , if i lift the hood and it would die out , im sure i keep my jake brake off, cruise on en bump it up 1500 for air if it was hot out, after i got it back too the yard they took that nice truck away from me, it had ice cold air, and gave me a new prostar, piece of crap , luke cold -warm air cond and opti idle, which i didnt mind, i just upset cause i miss my old truck and cold air, but they said it was time to trade in, still a good truck tho,:biggrin_25524:wat company is this:biggrin_25524:

Werner. We are sitting here all night because the load doesn't deliver til tomorrow. Its a safety issue since we can't get comfortable enough to sleep, we told dispatch and they ignore our messages.

If they cared they could easily find someone to swap loads with us and route us back to omaha. Brand new prostar and there's multiple things wrong with it, no jakes and most importantly, no apu and no idle. It'd be fine if we had no downtime, but they run our team like we are solo.

I'm still having a hard time understanding why its legal to make people live in uninhabitable conditions. We may just have to find a motel, although with a dog it might be hard.

Just tried setting the trl parking brake and pushing the tractor in, and truck idle timer still comes up. I press the clutch and it goes away but comes back on five min later. We definitly can't sit here tapping the clutch all night. My wife is crying and having a panic attack, its 85 in the truck right now.

No. It is their truck and they make the decisions regarding it's usage.

Your comparison to an animal is quite flawed. See it would be animal cruelty because as they have no opposable thumbs to open a door and save themselves. A man is supposed to use his brains and his thumb to not die.

No law is needed. Just the usage of reason by the driver to ensure his own survival.

Any Motel6 will take dogs, and most Super 8's will as well.

Can you put a stick to push on the clutch to keep it from engaging?
