to be honest, EVERYONE involved got way too greedy.
from the movie channels, sports channels, to the cable companies themselves.
many are cutting the cord.
for me, i still get internet, tv, and landline.
when the time comes (but i doubt it), and they pull pull out..??
i'll see what i have to do then.

I just through it interesting that a whole cable system was just cutting the cord for the rest of the town that still had cable.

We haven’t had a landline or cable in over 20 years. I believe the service actually ends two miles down the road from us anyway. And the cable company charges a lot out here for the ones that have it cause its so rural. But I’ve been hearing from folks that the phone companies are telling people the only way to keep their land lines is to go internet at their price. Many homeowners and folks in the trades that have had the same landline # for 40 years for home or business are having to drop it. We just had some a/c work done over the weekend and the guy was telling us how after 37 years with the same # that now he needs to change business cards, invoices headers, etc , and peel the numbers off his service van as he gave us his new number.
So they are in a sense doing the same as the cable companies. -
