It was an IDM. It still is strange that... When that mega fuse is on a different circuit than the starter... The fuse blowing played a direct role in the starter activating. As you guys probably know there are a number of electrical systems that, if obstructed, are designed to negate the signal to the starter. The IDM seems to be one of these systems for whatever cause. A Google search will reveal others with no start problems due to the IDM. Ultimately the problem isn't solved because the IDM is just way too expensive and in fact that wire to the starter is still unplugged and zip-tied off to prevent it from arching. Strangly enough it seems all the visible system are functional regardless of the disconnected cable and to he honest I have no plans in the very near future to poke around again. I already hate just having to turn the key for fear of the #### thing not starting again. I have done multiple tow calls since and the truck has done it's job. I do think that , with your guys help, I was close to isolating the problem. Out of pure frustration with it one last mechanic beat me to the punch and honestly I'm fine with that at this point. Thanks folks.

Hey man, I got the exact same problem as you right now. I have been checking everything from fusible links to bent pins on connectors. If I run an outer ground wire to the 85 pin on starter relay socket, she will crank but not start. Seems like all fuses are good and I do have the check A/C light on. I pulled some codes and it says some door is jammed or stuck, but I believe this goes on the A/C. Strangely enough I have the same history as you. Got a bad starter and 2 bad batteries. Replaced them all with new ones. Now I cannot find out why this darned thing wont even crank.

Hope someone has had the same problem before. I do not know what else to check forBoxCarKidd Thanks this. -
I usually go back to voltage drop test and following a wiring diagram. In a case like yours I like an old fashioned test light. Thought I already said this but check the grounds as well. Also all the connectors on the smaller wires from the batteries. There can be many along the harness.
Maybe someone else can help more.mxmanny Thanks this. -
