    Trucking reached the bottom of the barrel and continued to dig.. The fact that some celebrate the fact that some pretty awful candidates "can" get into the industry when before they would NOT.. proves the case.

    It's not so much celebrating as relating facts.

    And when was this magical "before" period you romanticize when "trucking" kept out ALL the riff-raff?

    As I said.. relating the "fact" that some completely unsuitable people are actually entertaining the idea that "professional driving" is a career choice for them.. and that there are actually some chance of them getting into a truck for someone.

    If you think that people with drug and alcohol convictions or problems have always been in the industry as a rule.. maybe you entered it after it became so common. There have always been dregs and low lifes in some areas of trucking... and there always will be. Most of them get what they deserved as they are used by outfits who see them as totally disposable and treat them as such.
