This right here! I haul cryo and we are not required to have placards but we still put them on. If you pay attention to some cryo companies, all they have is the orange number.Feedman Thanks this.

If there is a Hazardous material on your trailer no matter the weight you must have the endorsement and your company must have a HazMat permit unless there is a Special Permit that is carried in the truck at time of transport for batteries.Feedman Thanks this.

Wrong! Try again.
I'm not perfect but I've had a little hazmat training and actually haul hazmat items. Always less than 1,000 lbs and what I pull is perfectly legal without hazmat markings and without endorsement.FLHT, kemosabi49 and Feedman Thank this. -
It's all about the pressure on Nitrogen.
Now I am told Hydrogen is also about the pressure its transported at.
Don't seem right you still have to have the paper work but not the endorsement on your CDL.viper822004 Thanks this. -
I once hauled in a dry van boxes of the motor oil you can find in a store. No placards. I feel like it should of. But laws said it was ok

That's because oil isn't hazmat.
I know it makes no sense, but it is what it is. I know quart, gallon, and 55 gallon drums aren't hazmat, and I've been told by a fuel hauler that even a full tank isn't.
So not being hazmat, none of the hazmat rules apply.kemosabi49 and RockinChair Thank this. -
Trifling, i think thats the word . seems hauling potentially harmful substances should simply fall in the category of hazardous materials . Simplified rules .
