No Jake or cruise, no switch stuck?

Truck is brake to Jake via computer which was working fine cruise worked high idle.

now it jakes no matter what all cruise functions are gone

brake lights are not stuck on jolly valve and brake u can hear switch activate.

clutch and throttle still disengages jake

all switches appear to be functioning but the truck thinks the brakes are being applied why Jake is on without brake and no cruise

any thoughts?

 

Check your jake on/off switches/wires. Obviously if throttle and clutch disengage it, its just getting a constant signal to be on, but its not on the ecm (engine harness) to solenoid side

 

I would definitely check the clutch switch first.

 

is the clutch switch bassicly a on or off or is it multi function.

because if the Jake is on and I bump the clutch it kicks off the Jake so in theory it’s working unless it sends more than one signal?

 

I might be a little confused, I thought you said the Jakes and Cruise did not work. Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly, but how do you know the clutch switch is kicking them off if they're not working.

 

Jake is operating as it “should” on it works off it don’t but it was brake to Jake with it in the on position now it does it without brake applied

 

the Jake is supposed to be programmed to only work with brake applied.

now with the Jake on it just works how most trucks would. (Ecm thinking brake is being applied 24/7 imo) and no cruise

bump the clutch it kicks the Jake off

 

I would think you're experiencing a bad harness between ECM and firewall..

 

With jake brake switch on
With cruise OFF
No brake application
The jakes kick on when you release clutch or fuel pedal.

This is in fact a correct way for this to work.

You need to list the states that occur to turn on or off the stated items to show PRECISELY what it is you think is happening incorrectly. Because i really cant tell what you mean, i was taking a stab at what i THOUGHT you meant

 

# 1 I’ve never tried I’ve always left cruise on since I’ve owned truck. But this is how it’s operating with cruise on atm.

#2 this is how it was operating normally

#3 no cruise will NOT engage at all. Jake operates with throttle and clutch released regardless of cruise switch position

Jake on
Cruise on
No brake applied
Jake engages with the release of throttle
And clutch

Cruise will not set with Jake position on or off
Cruise indicator is lit on dash showing it’s on
