We all know does not include me.

As soon I learned about the Shelby Cobra from the late 60's I did not want to try and follow any more of his cars. But thank you for the links. I have some reading to do today and learn what he did now.

I wondered if Shelby ever lived long enough to get ahold of a typical anemic casterated noballs 18 wheeler for a few dollars. Work in trucking would be so much tolerable.

Yup,my father had a brand new Datsun 310 that barely lasted a few months before it was totaled (someone committed a hit and run at a convenience store my father frequented to get his lottery tickets, when he came back out the car was half it’s original length). He used the insurance money to replace it with the Nissan Pulsar NX coupe I previously mentioned. At that time (mid 1980s) the Datsun make was transitioning over to Nissan here in the States.

If the Pulsar had a wing on it it had one dangerous flaw, a shimmy that worsens beyond 128-135 depending on the wind situation (The roads I ran, had a lot of valleys which probably increased the local windspeed over the car itself) I don't know if it is because the wing is not physically big and bad enough to hold it down on the rear wheels or just for show. (I should go to Nuberrung (Spelling) and stay there I would have so much fun...

Anyway reading up on the Dodge, I am surprised that Shelby does a little software typing to a computer to limit torque to the transaxle. That should be a little bit of a slap in his face spiritually. You would think the SOB will build a proper fat strong transaxle to take any torque from that engine after it's rebuilt.

The one 4 wheeler I had driven that left a impression on me was of all things a Volkswagon Jetta GT. That little thing SIGH... did not quit in the hollows and was able to have brakes that never faded before getting back down into the hollow and a suspension able to take a little air.

(Those of you not of back woods racing need to get churching up by visiting one of these....Google Maps)

A little backfiring wont bother them none, there is a Gaurd training base. (Today's computer engines don't have enough balls to backfire through the glasspacks...)

A lot of subcompact/compact cars back then didn’t have spoilers on the trunk lids, they did have luggage racks(very seldom used so in a manner they were “de facto spoilers”). My father’s Pulsar had one,I had one on a 1986 Ford Tempo that I drove.
