I'm going with Central Refrigerated they provide transportation and lodging you need food money and permit testing money though I read Stevens Transportation will do the same but will also give you another loan for food while in school but their otr training is 8 weeks after the 3 weeks of unpaid school and during the 8 week training you make 350/wk and it will take 3 years to pay back your 4200 tuition whereas most companies it will only take 1 year and much less for tuition just look into on google most companies will be advertised there and you can read up on them as much as you feel necessary

Wow...the something for nothing deal.....there aren't any companies that will do that....anywhere. Some may front you the money to get your CDL's for "free" , but you'll be required to either pay that back through a payroll deduction plan each week/month for several months or a specified time period....some may give you a room at a motel during orientation/training, food , clothes, the essentials will be on your dime ...I can't believe someone really expects someone to pay everything for them....I feel sorry for this kid...I really do.

I had retired. Got back to driving with Swift. Swift sent me a bus ticket. Swift provided the motel room. Swift provided a meal in orientation. Swift pays for training. HOWEVER, we had to share rooms, and there's a different person in the room every single day (your gear is not safe). You do not get ANY promised pay until you are assigned to a truck. All meals cease when orientation is over, so if you're sitting at the motel waiting for a trainer, you are starving if you don't have any money, and most of them don't have any money. And forgot to mention that there are no meals paid for on the bus ride.

Quit Swift when I got my foot in the door with an OSOW company. They paid for transportation, paid motel and didn't have to share rooms and got a kingsize bed, meals at orientation PLUS voucher for a free meal at the restaurants near the motel. Got orientation money on card that week.

But this wasn't an entry level company. They had 5 people in orientation class instead of 50 like Swift. They most certainly won't pay for your CDL, and you have to have prior experience. So, if you're starting out, you'd better be able to scrape up some cash so that you can feed yourself for about two weeks. I'm not talking about trucking school.

    TigerBait and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this.
