No overnight parking/2 hour rest limit signs at rest areas

Discussion in 'Questions From New Drivers' started by GhentSaintPeters, Jul 30, 2019.

  1. if you're out of hours and need to sleep you're fine.
they're not going to bother you nine times out of 10 as long as you're in the spot.
if you're parking like a d bag in an aisle way or behind the trailers or however you other clowns tend to do it nowadays you may get a little harassment..

    A quiet thought.

All this US marshal talk is a bit... unnecessary. If there was something really, really serious you call them and be quick about it. More than likely they will show up assess the problem and have Sheriff Ed Little (RIP 2017) take care of you.

Yeah ppl say dont answer the door when the troopers knock but its gonna be a bumpy ride on the back of a wrecker LOL . get some sleep and dont worry about it driver. Not all cops are d bags like most ppl make them out to be . id go out on a limb and say most dot and troopers understand what us truckers are up against and as long as u aint hurtin nobody and ur parked in a legal spot im sure they aint gonna care about a stupid sign , unless ur california . if ur in cali, then ur better off just getting ur ratchet set out and unbolt the sign from the post and when barney says why u parked here driver the sign day 2 hours.? What sign mr officer i dont see one lol

The Unified States Supreme Court just ruled this year that is illegal. Can't mark tires anymore

SC never bothered me and I drove out of NC for 35 yrs sleeping in many of their rest areas.

a lot of the "Hot Spot" T/S or fuel stops have large parking areas on 26.

SC has always seemed truck friendly, just don't get in the restricted lane on 85. lol.
$100 fine and NO they don't reduce it for anybody.

    a friend told me:rolleyes:

Rest areas are paid for by taxpayers. You are a taxpayer. You are out of hours. Get some sleep and don’t worry about it. If a police officer does bother you, I’d tell him to bring a DOT officer back. Prove your legal and you can’t drive for the night. Bet they let you off

Actually it wasn't the Supreme Court. It was the 6th Circuit Court. That means it is currently only illegal in MI, OH, KY, and TN. If it is ever brought before other courts they can cite the 6th Circuit sure, but until then officers are free to chalk tires in other states depending on department policy.
