This lady has no sympathy for what drivers go through trying to find a parking space for the night. It's a major problem. Truck Stops are full every night, trucks are illegally parked on entrance ramps, rest areas are full and nobody wants you parking on their property. It's a problem that society doesn't want to take responsibility for. Personally, I think the sign should read
NO TRUCK PARKING? NO DELIVERIES!
"No overnight truck parking" What if you are a bobtail? or a garbage truck?

I parked at a closed down store in Birmingham AL one night. Next morning a man woke me up saying I wasn't suppose to park there but I could park in the same shopping center lot just on the other side. He was suppose to call and have me towed but didn't think that's the way truckers should be treated so I politely thank him and moved about 200 yds and finished my break. Nice to know there are still some decent people out there.

Many walmarts are putting more concrete tree planters in the parking lots to discourage parking. Also people will park close to you just to try and block you in. When Sam was alive he wanted truckers and RV drivers parking there. He knew that they needed rest and that they were potential customers. How upset would Walmart customers be if the trucking companies banded together and said, "sorry we're not good enough to park there then we're not good enough to deliver there." No. Walmart trucking can't cover all the stores they have. If they could they would hire outside trucking companies.

Yeah, a lot of things changed after Sam Walton kicked the bucket. Some for the better, most for the worse. But I still can't bad mouth Walmart too much. They do help out folks on limited income, with their prices, and they also keep local merchants on their toes.
I have a much higher appreciation of Walmart, after living in a few communities where Walmart was not allowed in, but the city fathers. Without it, local merchants price gouge the hell out of customers! I don't begrudge anybody a decent living, or a fair profit margin. After all, you are in business to make money. But some of these remote small town prices are so out of line it makes me want to puke.
You try to talk to a merchant about it, and their response is one of two things, they either blame it on "freight costs," or they don't even try to make excuses, and just tell you not to shop their if you don't like it. -

Lots of places are not owned by the store. The property is leased so it's not up to the store manager. Some towns make ordinances prohibiting certain stuff. They can write pretty much anything into the rules before building a place. In a town next to me in NH trucks cannot make any deliveries on Sunday.

I never once said I don't have sympathy so plz don't label me as such.I have been driving since 2002 and 9 of those yrs was solo otr so I know exactly what drivers go thrueast coast can be the worst.i'm simply saying read your signs and respect them.I have stayed at many Walmarts but I also make sure its trucker friendly. There are many stores that hate trks in their parking lot because of all the slobs and trucks tear their lot up.
