A wise man gives reasons and logic and solves things with his brain.A loser gives insults, contributes nothings and typically solves things with their fist. Enough said. Or, "whatever," said the High school cheerleader.

EOBRs are going to suck when you sit six hours at a Walmart distribution center to get unloaded. That was for three skids in Massachusetts.

All of the drive cam issues where they point them on the driver is not just for the trucking industry.

I have seen them implementing them on some policemen, firemen and now on paramedics in the back for the treatment. Some are forced to wear the cameras while on duty the entire time. They are being recorded the entire shift.

Before long, there will be no way for an employee to be free.

Just this morning I got stuck for 4 hours waiting to unload. No parking at the receiver, so I just reached over and pushed the "Off Duty Drive" button and drove to the truck stop down the road.

and usually the the ones who say that are the super truckers that just park where they please to spend the night no matter if they block others in or block the fuel pumps, scales etc...

I would say 2 hours minimum if in an area one doesn't know

"What's sad is that the vast majority of the new folks in this industry don't realize what a sham ELOG's really are, but seeing the quality of the drivers that the mega carriers are running thru they're training mills, it's no surprise that they use ELOG's.[/QUOTE]"

This is BS, an excuse for the lack of training most Mega Carriers have, I'm sure neither you nor any of the experienced drivers here were born with all your trucking knowledge, you were all rookies once....you were either lucky enough to get great trainers or you learned along the way committing some or all of the offenses you now profess to criticize.....Less criticism and more mentoring.....

The other night I was parking at a Pilot and two A-Holes were ripping me a new one on the CB, great experienced drivers...well neither one of these "professionals" had the sense, common courtesy or professionalism to get our of their cabs and help me back a split axle into a tight spot....

I agree ELOG's arent perfect, hell just yesterday I had to go over 9 minutes to get to a truck stop, a consignee took 2 1/2 hours to unload 1 coil.....I had 3 hours when I got there and the nearest T/S was 40 min .......

Paper logs would've come in handy!

Having said that, I think many drivers don't see how all these regulations will be to the advantage of drivers, in time, these regulations lower productivity, causing carriers to hire more drivers, but to attract and keep them, wages will have to rise. With paper logs, carriers, shippers...they knew drivers could fudge reality, running them even harder and more ragged....truck drivers seem to be the only job were the EXPERIENCED professionals are proud and, indeed brag, about how their abused by the big companies.....

But thats just a rookie talking, so I'm sure many will discount this post....

    Safe driving everyone!!!!

Then whats the difference???? The flexibility you'r all talking about is simply the ability to fudge reality to ones advantage on paper, if not then by all means enlighten me....

I say this with no malice of intent, as I too agree that the HOS are srcrewed up.....but if your gonna defend something, the come right out and say so...

I mean, lets get real, 90% of us posting here break the law in some way or other (speed limits for one). Some major laws, some minor laws, logging, speeding, ilegal parking, or some dumb move we've pulled, sometimes, unintentionally, nevertheless, the law is, still the law...

    jus saying, ..........

Some companies already do that. You can't but a cam in a sleeper , it becomes a privacy issue and you know somebody smells lawsuit.
