no power at datalink port

    95 intentional 9600 cab over with ddec iii 11.1 issue is (NO START)
    i am getting no power at datalink port so i cant connect to ecm to use diagnostic link the truck has new timing sensors, fuel pump and, ecm and the truck still will not start.

    how can i get power to DataLink port or does anybody have pin out of 6pin datalink port?

    On a J1708 pin C is hot and E is ground.

    if i supply 12v and a ground if needed i should be able to connect to the ecm if no J1708 wires are damaged right?

    Maybe your ECM isn't getting power? Could explain the no power to the diagnostic port.

    Some trucks have a five amp fuse that supplies the data port

    ecm power harness has power and grounds

    The oldest book I have is for 98 and newer. F6-A shows it is the fuse for the datalink connector. 5 amp. If you turn the key on, you should get the yellow and red engine warning lights coming on for a bulb test. If they do not come on, the ECM is not booting.

    Go to batt. box and look for fuse inside plastic fuse holder clean all batt. conn. an where the ecm fuse pushes into holder?

    what would cause the ecm not to boot up?

    ECM has constant battery power and grounds then is turned on separately by ignition power. So it could be losing any of those. ECM failure is the other possibility.
