    Did you look in the fuel tanks for air coming out of the fuel returns

    That's not soot, it's dust that made it past your air filter. Not good.

    Replaced that back in January. I have not checked the fuel tanks for air yet due to my tanks having some mesh cages in them which are proving to be quite difficult to remove.

    Yeah understood. It's not soot, it's dirt.

    There is no soot entrance to that part of the turbo between it and the air filter.

    You have to remove. It is possible to remove the anti siphon screens.

    This is critical to seeing if your cups are still bad.

    Once you remove the screens;

    Shine a flashlight in there and locate the return line, it's shorter and higher up in the tank. Air bubbles coming out = Bad Cups.

    The cups were replaced 2 months ago with the injectors. I will try to yank them out and look when I actually get some dry weather.

    Yeah it's not unheard of to have a truck that just had cups Changed by Volvo mechanics to have them leaking right in the parking lot before it's even driven away.... Requiring them to be changed again.

    The cups on these Volvo Motors are just flat-out pathetic....
