I have a 03 Pete 379 with a 70" sleeper and the fan, ac light and back light would intermittently quit then about 20k ago they quit completly. I have checked the fuse in the panel and the relay, OK. tore the closet apart to check the wires and seems to not have power going in. I can power up with my jumper test light and get everything to work so fan is OK. Is my switch on the dash bad? It is a SOB to test! Petebilt say they can help for $100"s but I"m just a poor driver. Any help muchly app.

You say you have checked the fuses but have you checked the fuse box in the cab under the driver kickpanel or the one inthe sleeper on the left side under the bunk it has five or six fuses just for the sleeper and things back under there also has some relays in to if I rembember correctly.

thanks for the come back. I've checked the one driver side under the dash and the relays & all check OK. I 've looked under bed but I'll look again. What puzzles me is for some time it would have power then not and it did not seem to matter what I did. Now at least it quit all togather so maybe someone can find it. I'll keep on trying. Thanks again

There are plugs that melt. ..Mine did anyway. ...look at the top of the right seat belt. pull the cover off for the sleeper boot. Sleeper disconnect plugs are right there. I had to wire around the plugs.

Is anyone aware of a documented layout of the fuse box under the driver side dash available anyplace? Got a '09 386 Pete and can't find any documentation on what each fuse is for. Thanks

My 2005 379 had an issue where the fluorescent light in the sleeper would turn itself on. I'd go out to the truck and the light would be on. At first I thought I was leaving it on by accident until it turned itself on in the middle of the night while I was sleeping in there. That was not a good feeling. For awhile I just took the bulbs out of it and relied on the other lights back there but they really don't put out enough light. I had Peterbilt look at it, they said it needed to be totally rewired and could cost around a grand. Eventually I found a mechanic who bypassed the switch by the steering wheel completely going straight from the fuse panel to the light in the sleeper. Works great now. I assume it had something to do with that whole two switch thing.
