All the increasing rules and regulations are going to do is drive off the remaining drivers who care about what they do. They want an entire industry full of scumbags, they're going to end up with one.
HFC Thanks this. -
I always hate it when people say this, oh you just sit there all day its not work at all, I could drive everyday like that. Yeah right ive told many people think about road trips. Ive ridden on some of them with friends who have never driven otr and they start complaining after 3 hours behind the wheel. Then I chip in and say ok now try that 11 hours a day every day for 2 or 3 weeks at a time. Oh and think about having 53 of trailer behind you and 80,000 lbs. They always say ok I couldnt do that. Thats one of the main reasons I got outta otr was because of being treated like scum and dirt at the majority of stores, shippers, receivers, what have ya. Granted there are few and far between places that still treat you like a person, but the majority of these people have driven otr or have a relative that does.HFC Thanks this.

Well I found another one today. Campbell's warehouse in Napoleon, OH now has a sign on the entrance door that reads, We no longer have restrooms available for drivers use. We haul alot out of there but I won't be going back. I called dispatch and informed them that I will not make any pickups there anymore, if I'm not aloud to use their crapper I don't haul their crap!
HFC Thanks this. -
Yeah I never like that warehouse there in Napoleon, they made me pull out of the yard and go back to the truck stop to sweep a small handful of dust off the rear of the trailer I couldve put it in my hand and thrown it in the truck. Nope the lady said I had to leave the grounds and do it. An to top it off it was pouring rain, needless to say I was ticked off. I do remember watering the tires in the way back empty trailer parking lot that is such a joy to drop in.

we deal a lot with the local Whirlpool DC, they have a policy of drivers must go to the Flying J about 6 miles away. I told the guard one day that under ADA rules, they could be sued for that.

In what respect?
Companies do not have to allow access to their facilities. -
They don't have to let you use anything but they should , But on the flip side some truckers are nasty as hell and they act like little kids and do some nasty #### in the bathroom .
-
If they have the general public coming into their building then they need to require a restroom to use for them.
-
My point exactly.
If you are not allowed into the building, there is no violation.
The company is not allowing general public into their facilities.
