Not cool at all. Naturally your left with no time to reach a safe haven. I would call the state police in that situation. Let them know that this company killed your on duty clock, your now out of hours, and they want you off the property. Can't hurt. Maybe in the long run it keeps situations like that from happening if the receiver/shipper knows your willing to involve the police. National Freight warehouses are notorious for that crap!

I just parked by the entrance, lol. Already had 6 or 7 hours logged in the sleeper by then, so it wasn't too bad. I'm not driving away for anybody when I'm that close to my 8 or 10.

Hi Steve, actually, there was a time when that was true. Not debris, but water. Now with alcohol, water isn't near the problem, but I worked in a station years ago (70's) and there was this stuff in a tube you put on the dipping stick, and would turn purple when it hit water. ( do they still have that?) I remember several times, getting a bunch of water after getting gas, as the tanks actually had that much water in them and the tanker would stir that up. And you always carried some "gas line de-icer".

Yeah theystill have water paste alot of stations now have a veeder root for all of that but all the sensors are built on this 1 rod in the tank and it is overly expensive. ( use to do pump outs for cross drops.) but my old company still had us stick the tank with paste. I think it was over 2 in. Dont drop was the rule. Tanks are now fiberglass so they dont corode like the old metal ones. And since the re introdution of ethonol alot of stations had to get retro fitted. As for deicer it was in south florida so we didnt have to use it.

Wow, talk about revisting bad memories. I had a load of glue once out of Skokie, Il. It was to be del. to a facility in Phily. I figured it might be best served to arive as close as possible to the appointment time, because of parking restrictoins, traffic, and other unknowns. Since this was going to be first trip there, I asked a few other drivers if they had ever been to the Phily. plant, and one driver told me to pack a big lunch. LOL, and boy was he ever right, except it should have been diner & a show. Since this glue was temp. sensative, intransit heat was uesd to keep the material viable, yet more wasted time. I tried not to complain to much, after all I did apply for the job, but two days for 1500 gls. two trips to a tank wash. Not good! So listen, things like this happen. There could many reasons for the lack of space in the holding tank, none of whch they are going to tall you about. Just know if it happened once, it'll happen again. And try to use that knowledge to your advantage.

Went to load 6122 in Toledo Shelly about a year ago, and the driver in front of me waiting for the beam to the left, asked me "why do the numbers on the stick go backwards?" I got loaded first....
