3rd time no speedometer reading has proven unresolvable so far. Day 11 in MHC shop, but if no sight of a resolution by tomorrow, I'll loose my truck and be sent off for a 'who knows what'. Speedometer sensor good, dash cam gauges good, OEM checked out. Possibly ECM, but at $5k+ each, no one's ready to try programming a new one just for this issue. Only have 20K mls. Wiring issue was suspect, but all attempts to trace that down haven't shown any problems.
    HELP!

Doncha just wish they could do the old fashion smoke test? Disconnect the batteries, sensor and dash, and hook the battery charger to the wire, if it sparks and smokes, you know that's the problem.
Some much is controlled now by the programming inside the ECM, that one small glitch can have all kinds of unintended problems.

Have you checked the speedometer itself? I just saw one not long ago that had a bad motor for the gauge. Replacing it could solve the problem.

EDIT: Sorry for the delayed response. It's probably late, but it could help maybe.
