i recently purchased a cobra 29 ltd...i have it hooked up (correctly i believe), but i get nothing from it...no static (when squelch is turned way down), and i don't know if i'm broadcasting or not...if i have it turned on, i might get some reception every 15 minutes or so (depending on traffic, etc. of course), but other than that, nothing...
any suggestions on what might be the problem?
thanks
no static, nothing

how bout a Radio Check
i herd this the other day lol
"All of our radio check operators are busy at this moment but if you stay on the line the next available radio check operator will be with you as soon as possiable"
everything tight? how do have your antennas mounted? -
you said you get no static when you turn your squelch down.... i doubt this is the problem, but it kinda sounds like it,
Try turning The RF gain all the way to the right( clock wise), and the squelch all the way to the left(counter clock wise). If you hear static everything is good, if your squelch is turned all the way to the right, you are only gonna hear REALLY close signals. oh and to get out just keep the dynamic setting at 12 o'clock -
HA HA HA thats awesome -
did ya get the plastic washers on the antenna right so it is not grounding out.
