I've been to Uniontown. Chestnut Ridge on US 40 directly to your east is one nasty hill. The closest terminal to there would be Youngstown.

As for Orlando, Lakeland may be your best bet there.

Slip seating would be a pain when you are over the road. Besides cleaning up other people's messes as already mentioned, you wouldn't be able to take all the things that make a semi more comfortable while you are on the road. It would just be too big of a pain to pack and unpack a truck that often.

Thanks Cerberus,But I plan on moving in about 2-3 years possibly to the Wisconsin area where Rohel is.So thats why crete would be a good choice here for exp. and then move. The other choice would be (hopefully not) Swift,I do have a freind who is also a trainer for them and I can request him for a "mentor?".He tells me that some of the trainers there are doing the quick train to get another student in.They get all miles on truck for being a mentor. He doesn't like to let them go too quick because he says his name is always attached to that driver. This seems to me the reason of poor saftey record.Alot of local small co.s here only want to pay $500.00
a week for cdl with 1 year and hazmat endorsment.Seems way to low for me.Swift would only be a temporary start till move at latest till I move.
Thanks again for everybodys help.I should find out on my training on
Monday and and talk to school recruiter on Tuesday.I will keep posting to let everybody know if I have different questions.

Hey there. Yeah, rumor? Rumors are either true or not true. If somebody is spreading it its probably not true. And besides the point rumors are never to be trusted.

Either give the statement and back it up or drop it. I have seen way too much hurt and pain caused by people, including myself, passing on 'rumors'. I have learned the hard way, tell the thing and back it up. And also have the discernment to know when you should say something or not.

Its just a passionate subject for me guys. Sorry if this is a little loud.

There might be changes coming up in Crete but unless there is any hard evidence of BAD changes it's not necessary to give a warning against working for a company.

Something else to consider...I was the regulatory manager at Ryder and no one would believe the amount of projects I worked on that would have brought huge changes company wide that never materialized. I think that 2 out of 10 projects actually came into fruition and that was only if someone belonging to the Board of Directions REALLY REALLY wanted it done.

PS - Please do not hold my history with Ryder against me. :biggrin_2557: I now have my own safety consulting company, leaving the wonderful world of corporate america behind, working with new and small motor carriers is MUCH more fulfilling!:yes2557:

Hey there. I'll give a solid 10/4 on that. Thanks for putting it that way.

Even if there is going to be some "serious changes in 2 or 3 years" he will have his experience in and can scoot on down the road to another company.

Heard nothing but good things about Crete. Try to locate some of their drivers and talk to them.

well I found out that Crete only hires with at least 1 year of experiance. Which is looking like Swift as a possibility,Roehl called back and said I was outside of their hiring range(which is Orlando and I live in Stuart about 1 1/2 hours outside of Orlando).I got a prehire from Cypress Trucking in Jacksonville but have seen bad posts on them as well. I live in a homeowners association so parking the truck at the house is out of the question as well as no space to put it.It seems to me that the only the BIG companies that are out there are the only ones to hire newbies. But I guess if you go to work for them you get out of it what you put into it till you gain the experiance and remain accident free. But I was still kinda curious to what "changes were coming to crete" and what the basis was on that.
