As you gain experience, you will even learn certain fast food joints that have truck parking. Taco Bell in London, OH will let you park there because the 3 truck stops on that exit fill up. I went in there and they told me I could spend the night there, and nobody would bother me and the other drivers. You will be surprised where you can go to sleep once you stop looking for parking at the truck stops your company allows you to get fuel at

Let me explain to you how I feel about paying your debt to society. There is a separation between the state the private individual. If you commit a crime, let's say it's rape, and the state sends you to prison for 5 years and you served it, then now you have completed your sentence to the state. However, I am not the state. I am a private citizen and I don't care what the state says. I will never allow you get near my daughter (if I had one) for as long as you live. Don't come into society demanding that everyone treat you as an upstanding citizen because the you served your time. That service of time is between you and the state. Nobody owes you a living. Nobody owes you a thing. See post #130.

I make 90k a year spending about 10 hours a day on the road. My wife makes 180k a year spending 8 hours a day in an office. All workers are not equal in value. Sorry but that's a fact.

Probably rare, but it can happen.
I was at our local truckstop one morning a few years ago, and a landstar OO found the lock cut off his dry van when he did his pretrip. He called the sheriffs dept to make a report. We had a fairly new deputy that had come from somewhere else and he was certified to do dot inspections, so he did. The oo was chapped to say the least. lol

I am not even talking to those extremes. I am talking about drug charges and people who have done less egregious crimes. They are blackballed as if they committed a rape or murder. That's ridiculous

For some, the act of not believing in God will get you sentenced to death. The level of egregiousness of a crime is based on individual perspective. Anyway, we have gone way off topic here and I will have to bow out. We agree to disagree and I'm glad that you shared your opinion.
