Husband uses a Blue Parrot headset and loves it. The earbud type bug his ear after awhile. He can have the radio on and most generally I can't hear it; I can hear the Rand McNally yapping a little, but usually can't completely tell what he is saying.

He hates the one I have, I had a Plantronics Voyager which croaked, it was so-so; a Motorola that croaked and it was terrible, half the time you couldn't hear what he was saying; and now one from AT & T called a Blue Ant that I really hate pretty much, he complains all the time about the noise it pickups esp if the grandkids are over or I'm trying to get anything done in the kitchen. It does recharge pretty fast and I can even use the Motorola plugin as a spare.

Thats great feedback,"from the other side"..it's really frustrating to converse on the road when the other person can never hear you...:biggrin_25523: I never realized just how loud RUNNING WATER could be! Lmao

folks, what I want is a headset that protects my hearing. Thats IT!! I dont care about bluetooth and phone talking. I just want to block the damage doing diesel. My full size earmuffs are too insulated and I cant hear anything. Like a siren or something... I am looking for hearing protection. My current employer only has old noisy Kenworths that sound like a locomotive especially fully loaded and straining..

I have a Bose series 2 Bluetooth headset that works really good. I can have the window rolled down and can still be heard. Also this is the only headset that I've had where I had to turn the volume down when someone is talking because it's too loud.

    Charli Girl Thanks this.

Legality aside, ive used the nokia bh-905 for the same purpose. they lasted almost 2 years of constant use and did a good job of knocking down the wind and engine noise without making you unable to hear what you needed to hear. downsides were 1. on the ear design got uncomfortable after several hours of wearing them 2. no boom mic. which means you could hear a conversation well, but the other person sometimes had issues hearing you.

i now use ibeats earbuds that came with my htc phone.
