Palomar SL41 2-Way Radio Microphone
stacks Thanks this. -
I have my original Astatic 636L from 2004, it is a great microphone. So much so that I bought another one for my base. They are clear talking and quiet down background noise. You can find them for $25 online sometimes.

I will never sell my radioactive General Lee with 1969 finals. I have had more people ask me what kind of radio I was talking on when running it. Put it with my 2x4 amp and I get my name called in DX all day long. It just doesn’t sound as clear with a RK56 as it does an Astatic 636, but it’s my favorite radio hands down.

I run an old rk 56 new ones are junk or my 636l as far as new I'd go with the 636 cheaper and way better then the new roadking.Rangers 198 seem good but I haven't messed with them much.

Without drastic modifications, most radios wouldn't be able to handle the wide frequency response of the SRA 198. With a proper tune, it sounds great.
