If you are abusing it, you may find yourself with a positive. Be sure you have the prescription and a note from the doctor (Signed by same with his DEA number) that prescribed stating that you are expected to be able to perform the public safety job.

Ok thanks. What do you mean by abusing? I am on a low dose
-
Eventually they are dead from fentanyal in illegal drugs from the street trying to get cheap relief.
Does that help?
If you are on a low dose... try to terminate taking it. Trucking is one of the most stressful things a person can be subjected to in life and it's really getting close to where smoking and coffee is verboten in the industry with the no tolerance for anything that passes your blood-brain Barrier and alters your mind while driving.Tombstone69 and CanyonCarl Thank this. -
smoking and coffee not allowed??!!
-
Numb and Tombstone69 Thank this.

Again to stop the arguments on this I post this from part 383. It defines what a CMV is for the purpose of testing. At the bottom is a chart. I would however highly recommend you have valid prescriptions for all these meds.

x1Heavy and CanyonCarl Thank this. -
Thanks for this info. The company has stated the test is being run by an outisde company for insurance purposes. Im not sure what implications that has
-
Trucking in particular is ruled by insurance. Even decisions to be hireable or not hireable in some cases are decided by them not the employer hiring you.
The Non cdl part tripped me up. Moose reminded us all on that so that's a good thing. If you were however operating as a full CDL trucker interstate or intrastate and had that medicine there probably will be a problem of some sort.CanyonCarl Thanks this.
