Has anyone done or know anything about non-cdl driveaway? This would be driving U-Haul, Penske, etc. trucks from one facility to another. Thanks

I looked into that once many years ago. I don't remember the details, but I do recall that it was very low pay and no benifits. I'm thinking it was a 1099 setup, where the driver is an "independent contractor." Was just not worth it for me so I didn't bother.

I sent you the link yesterday about the company you are looking into in Mesa AZ. Look at the inspections and how many times they were put out of service in the last year. Something like 15 out of service. Dont be a sucker. Unless you know how to fix all the stuff wrong when you pre trip it( CDL certified pre trip) stay away from a company like that. Sounds like you do their dirty work and take the hit on all the violations.

Thanks for the advice. I'm a newbie looking to get out of factory work and in to something that doesn't involve me standing on hard concrete floors 40-50 hours a week

There are sooooo many opportunities in the transportation industry. Yet we all fall under the same regulations. Looking at that tansport relocaters or what ever their name is, They are looking for a way to rent their vehicles and make money. There are not really in the moving a commodity business. I have been looking at linehaul and LTL companies this morning. Many of them use vans, sprinters, straight trucks aal of which are not necessarily CDL jobs. They may require TSA background checks but hey, just another place to look. Good luck
