    Question:
For non-cdl hot shot trucking, what is a good average price per loaded mile I should figure when investigating this business model? Is $1.60 loaded mile too high? Too low? Assume I get halfway decent at combining loads up to 10k#.

    Context:
Right now, for the months of June-Sept and Jan, Feb, I have (5) 3/4 and 1 ton diesel trucks and 10 people looking for full-time work. Since my primary business is seasonal, I want to keep my employees hired full-time and help offset my truck payments during those months. The guys I have hired are already used to being on the road for a week at a time. It seems to me that non-cdl trucking during those months would be a great way to make a little cash while giving my guys full-time employment. My business will grow to the point, in one year, where I will be wanting to keep 20 truck busy during those months. Will the market absorb that many trucks so I can keep getting loads? I reside in Wolcott, IN.

Rv movers??? If your in indiana anyway. That's probably pays better in the summer or maybe just the spring when stock needs to be brought into dealers.

Please clarify this for me ... “combining loads up to 10k#”?

do you mean you are looking for 10k loads or maxing out the combination of truck and trailer at 10k?
