If the company you work with sent you down that street to drop off/pick up equipment, you should be able to argue that in court providing you have documentation as to why you was on that street. If you was taking a short cut through a "no trucks" street to save time, that is another thing
altogether where it might be a small local ordinance fine better to pay if you had no business there. There should be a phone number to call in three days or so listed on the ticket to find out the fine.

no trucking streets are actually "no through trucking" if you are delivering in it and there is no truck route to get you there then they can not ticket you for it. If you were routed down that street by your company then give it to them, it's there deal.
I deliver trailers to hospitals and I am on no trucking streets EVERY day. I don't even look at the signs anymore. I
    v never been ticketed though

Definately right here! If they sent you down that road they should be willing to pay the fine.

Do a search on the net. Type in the state you was in and then type fines for truck drivers and see if you can find a list of fines/cost for each. I would do it for you, but I don't have the state you was in.

It was $150 for mine a couple of weeks ago. I accidently cut through the center of town in crockett, tx instead of taking the loop. it was a tough lesson to learn and I won't be making that mistake again.

That sounds like an overly anal and rather stupid cop there. If you had reason to be on that street, #1 he should not have cited you, and #2 a judge might get a little perturbed at him for such a waste of the court's time. If the fine amounts to perhaps a day's pay or more, take it to court and see what happens.

    i don't think so..............

as the driver, YOU are still 100% responsible for what streets you take.

recently my routing sent me to a residential area of jersey city...

I was delivering a meat load, and weird areas are unusual...

I begin turning left on this street, and I had to stop mid-way and shorten the tandems to the shortest length as a car was parked on the corner.

I get on to the street to find it a 1 lane residential street, that dead ended....needless to say, I was screwed.

I called local police, and an officer came down to back me out...

The receiver was 15 miles away, and the directions were totally WRONG!!!
