Just thinking about whether I really need to include something from this far back. Maybe application ask for accidents in the "Last 3 Years or More" kind of making me wonder if I should just worry about the most recent 3 years.
I've been out of trucking for a while, but looking to get back into it because I'm in a lousy job market. To my surprise, Schneider turned me down because of this specific accident. Yeah, I was on the highway, but I was stationary. The weather turned so bad all the trucks and cars stopped and construction barrels were flying across the highway. Then a huge blast of wind shoved me over.
At the moment, I'm filling out an application for a local company and wondered if maybe I could just leave this out since it's 6 years old.

Dont mention it. Most only are worried about the last 3 years.

If its not within the timeframe they ask for, I wouldn't list it. If they ask me about it later, I tell them. The big thing is, you dont want to lie on the app..

Is anything on your DAC? If a storm blew the truck over while it was sitting still, that wasn't an accident and I wouldn't list it as such.
You could not reach a safe haven because all traffic was at a standstill.Terry270 Thanks this. -
Only in trucking could you be knicked for such an occurance.

Sounds like an Act of God to me. So blame it on dispatch as they think they are God.

If Schneider turned you down chances are it's on your DAC as a preventable recordable accident. You might want to check into hiring an Attorney.
crb Thanks this. -
Don't say anything about it, per FMCSA previous employers only need to release information for the previous 3 years. Something that happened 6 years ago (unless it was a preventable & DOT reportable) usually will not even be released to the company you're applying with.
Note: There are some very spiteful companies out there who would release that information in hopes to screw you one over, but I wouldn't expect the future employer to DQ you over it. -
