If you work for UPSF truckload...not ltl.....it's non union...right? And there is no lateral transfer to "brown" (union) drivers....is this right?
Seems to me UPS is UPS.....the paycheck, hr stuff, etc.... anyone know the scoop?
Non Union vs. Union....UPS is a split shop?

Yes that is right.
The paychecks, benefits and working conditions are much better than truckload. -
I talked to a UPS truckload one time about a job, and they are, at least the division I talked to, non-union. No lateral transfer. I was told the browns were getting their drivers strictly from the delivery van drivers moving up & the delivery van drivers were coming from the warehouse. The truckload drivers I talked to were very satisfied with the job.

Same here, the Overnite guys seem pretty happy under the new banner but no...no lateral moves except inside the truck load side. I'm told they are welcome to apply for the p/t stuff tho.....

I recently started work for UPSF on a dedicated account and I wish I made the money the "brown guys" made. I was told by another driver that you can transfer to another truckload division. If I understood him right if you work there for awhile and then quit on good terms and apply to UPS after 1 year you have a good chance of getting the job as you are already in the system. Was told a driver from my division did that and was rehired to UPS. Just what I was told.
