Noob alert

I have been lurking around for a good while reading up on stuff. I have finally decided to make an account. I will be starting my new career working for prime getting trained up and getting my cdl starting next monday. Hope to get some more useful info from everyone here. I would like to say thanks for all the wonderful info i have seen so far!

 

i bet i have taken the practice tests atleast 20 times each on the ones i need. man there sure is some trick questions. even one of them that made me question life haha. i think those will be a big help because i now know what to expect!

 

I dont have any plans on getting hazmat. That is several hundred dollars i dont have right now. Maybe down the road i will. What is twic?

 

Well i got my room about 730 this morning. Didnt sleep at all last night on the greyhound ride. Had a slight scare when i went to get breakfest this morning. It is sort of an ala cart. You pay for each item you want. For other new prime drivers make sure you tell them you are a new hire and then the meal is free. I think there is a certain amount that is free. I didnt hit that limit this morning so i got a nice size breakfest. I ate and went to sleep for a few hours. Dont want to sleep all day as tomorrow starts very early. They said if you are late you will be sent home on your own dime. (Hopefully all this makes sense. Im half asleep and brain not functioning 100%)

 

It has been one heck of a crazy week but has been extremely smooth. Medical is good and have my permit with a tanker endorsement now. I now have my trainer and we are trying to head out either sunday or monday for my maiden voyage. He is going to break me in first off. Trying to have the first trip going to cali. And i will be leaving from mo. 2.5 day trip there. He said some good mountain passes are in store for me. Im excited yet extremely nervous at the same time. Yall keep me in your prayers haha. Ill keep yall updated on how my first trip goes probably next weekend when i get back.
