i want to get my class a license, but im hitting a lot of dead ends with schools right now because i have a felony. my first question is, are there any schools out there that dont mind enrolling a felon? i am losing my mind and myself in this school and job hunt, like everyone else i too am going through rough times. i am thinking of going to cr england but that is my last resort / desperate measures option. i live in baltimore, md with my 2 kids and wife and i am willing to relocate to any school locations you guys provide. i have another option of taking class b classes at the cost of $1100.00 and 2 months of my time. it does sound good but i would rather spend 2 months in class a because ive driven 26 ft box trucks and dump trucks of similar size since i was 18, i am 23 now so cheese buses and local transportation are of no concern to me but if cre or any school doesnt take me then i will proceed with class b and find a regular job. also if you could list the length of the course by the school that'd be sweet. sorry my post is so long im trying not to miss any details, i actually typed this on my xbox w/o the keyboard attachment to the controller, lmao its cool though you guys can laugh @ me too. thank you very much in advance i appreciate any info.

Well there is a colledge in Fort Dodge,Iowa, its Iowa central community colledge(ICCC)you might wanna look into.Google them. But can you be able to get a school loan?I attended this school and would highly reccomend them. When I went there,2 guys had felonies, one guy just got out of prison. Its like a 3 month course and the instructors are excellent. They will work with you one on one. Then once you get your cdl,you deliver loads with the instructors. But you still have the problem of companies hiring you with your felony. With crengland I cant say anything about the school but they do talk drivers into leasing because they say you can't get a company trk for week and/or months. Are you willing to committ to that with crengland?

i will check into iccc and call a recruiter thanks, and as for cre, not likely i'd rather take my chances with class b and maybe stick it out for a while until a decent class a opportunity pops up

Thats good.Don't hurt to check them out.Back when I was there it was $4700.00 and you stay at the dorm. They also have a car you can use.I actually had fun, lol.I recommend them because you said you would relocate.

sounds really nice, i have another question, will a felony prevent me from a hazmat endorsement or any other endorsements specificly?

Honestly,if you want to see your 2 "youngins" grow up and be more than a fleeting part of their lives, the ClassB thing may the best way to go. Hook on with a construction company driving a dump truck and doing some laboring, (most won't give a rats furry ### about your felony,as long as its not a heinous crime ya commited) and you'll make more than you would running for one of the bottom feeders.
Good luck and hang in,it'll eventually come together for you.
traplord, Tonythetruckerdude and CougFan Thank this. -
Chances are with a felony you cannot get hazmat. My state it costs $86.50 to do the finger printing. So if I were you I would'nt waste time and money even trying for the endorsement. There's alot of companies that don't even deal with hazmat. Most the drivers won't go thru the hassel of getting that endorsement or have dropped their hazmat. If you wanted to get tankers you won't have to go thru all the red tape.I have tankers and all I had to do was take the test.I also have hazmat or will soon as the fingerprinting results come back.I went thru alot of red tape and money for that.
traplord Thanks this. -
