Hey what's up guys I'm looking into starting my truck driving career and had a few question.
I live in Fresno and have check out a few schools I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of Five rivers trucking school. I went to check out the facilities and meet staff and unfortunately there's only one guy there and no students. The place and trucks seem old to me. Any help or reviews world be great.
Also if anyone knows of a good place in the Central Valley please let me know.
Im a very hard working young guy and I'm very motivated. I have an interest in hauling crude whats the best way to get started doing that? I'm willing to put in my time and miles and am looking for some direction.
    Thanks guys

The one good thing about small truck driving schools is you will get it done sooner and you will learn more as you progress simply because the fewer the students the better the training
    Good luck

Well if you want to drive tanker crude oil I would suggest calling a company that hauls that and ask them if they have an entry level program. If they do they probably have an "Approved" school. That being a school that meets their company requirements. Not all schools are looked at the same way by companies, especially tankers.
Some will tell you tanker co won't hire new drivers. At one time that was true. But now some tanker co have the mindset that if they take a new driver and train them in only tanker driving that will give you a safe driver.
Not saying the companies in your area do this, but I work for one that does. I did just what I'm telling you. I called a tanker terminal manager of a co that i wanted to work for and he told me of a school that his company approved of. And no they didn't own it. I meet all the co requirements, made the grades they required and the hired me straight out of CDL school.
Best of luck. Tankers Rule :biggrin_25519:

there are a few schools near and around Fresno, but like the one guy suggested call up some companies, im not sure how many tankers are running out of Fresno area, im sure there are a few though, are you wanting to run crude? Dairy?....Fresno region is probably good for dairy hauling, down near Bakersfield you got the oilfields.

Check with TVT. I think that they will hire guys on and get them licensed. They've got good equipment too.

What ever you do, "STAY AWAY" from Truck Nation School! They closed the Sacramento Campus and put all the students from there in the Salida campus. I don't see this school staying in business too much longer. A lot of the Sac students have contacted lawyers and are pursuing leagal action. I won 't go into the raggedy equipment... Go there at your own risk!
