I don't know of any companies that'll hire someone with a permit. Maybe for orientation, but you'll have a full CDL before you go OTR with a trainer.

I lived in NJ and I went to trucking school in PA. My permit was from NJ and I took my test in NJ. But I did all my driving while in school in PA.
