Norcold Fridge VNL 780

Having a problem with the fridge in this thing. Voltage is fine but if the truck's shut off fan will still run but the compressor won't engage. Pull it out and tap the control module and it will work for a couple days, Volvo gonna replace with a new fridge. Anyone else?

 

Finally just replaced the fridge. Apparently bad run of fridges for about 5 months, tried to wire them differently with the low voltage disconnect. Seems fine now, hopefully.

 

Yeah new truck. Fridge was pooched from the get go. There was a fix put out in a service bulletin pertaining to disconnecting an extra wire they installed for low voltage disconnect but it didn't work, so they replaced the fridge.

 

ok, on my third fridge now. see how this one lasts.

 

Well depends how old it is. They're warrantied from Norcold for 2 years. The fix was that you had to pull the " P " wire off the back which from what I hear worked for some and also easy to do. If that didn't work they have to replace the fridge. My other one's were manufactured in 2011, this one now was built in 2012 and came with a note from Norcold saying that it's been rewired. I would say because they were having such a bad run of fridges. My 2006 I never had a problem, they should have left them alone. That being said it's as frustrating as hell, and for buying one they're a 1000 bucks.
