I found out last week that I could potentially get state unemployment due to relocating. I applied last Friday and don't have the interview until 2 weeks from now. If I'm actually approved for the unemployment, I can likely attend the local tractor-trailer school (https://americantruckschools.com), with WIOA paying for it. Which is awesome. The options there are 160, 240, 320, 400, and 600 hour programs. This would be ideal for me as I could stay at home during school, and I'm seeing great positions open online locally with places like Oak Harbor, UPS Freight, and some local companies. I'm just trying to not get all excited just to be let down.

Just got home from the bowels of hell aka CA DMV. I passed the general knowledge and need to go back for all of my endorsements and air brakes exams. That place is so fuqqed-off, it’s unreal.
How do they expect someone to stand in place on a hard surface, with flickering fluorescent lights and loudspeakers above, for hours while taking these exams? Good lord.Chinatown Thanks this. -
"sorry but you would need a license from Montana since you would take your state driving exam here in Montana. You will need to look for a company that will train and let you take your drive test in California."

Wilson Logistics also trains in Missoula, Montana and didn't mention anything about that to you. -

So I ended up going back yesterday afternoon and passed everything. General Knowledge, Combination Vehicles, Air Brakes, HazMat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples. I took me twice to pass Hazmat and twice to pass doubles/triples. Then I came home and had three beers and a cigar.

Attend a private school if you can; then there will be several opportunities.
