Exactly, it's THEIR DISCRETION, so they can arbitrarily decide if they want to fine you or not. Lets say you take a load into the middle of nowhere South Dakota. I did that before and the closest load out of there was 250 miles away. Are they going to fine you if you take a trailer out of that area? Of course not, they want trailers out of that area.

On the other hand, what happens when you deliver a load to somewhere in upstate NY where the freight market generally sucks. If you ever go to any of those places up there (Target, Walmart, etc) where there's always tons of empties and you decide to just bobtail out of there to go home (Sadwar LOL). They're going to want you to go out of route and return to that area to get an empty from there versus bobtailing to say Tunkhannock and getting a trailer from there. I think it's obvious that this rule is in place to address specific freight markets in particular, at their discretion of course.

The agreement becomes effective the moment you sign and send it in.

If both parties can terminate the contract... What's the big deal? It's a take it or leave it agreement contract. Those who are not abusing the system will see no difference.

I only take exception to the issue of deadheading more than 100 miles to a load and being forced to shuttle around trailers if you choose to do that. Then again I rarely deadhead that far but it does happen from time to time

I think it goes toward repeated offenders.

If that were true then I would have already brought my truck there.
I've seen with my own eyes Landstar rates and know two drivers that work there.
Flatbed sure it's wayyy better but Van? ehh

I'm speaking from what I've seen...
If you've got proof and can show otherwise then be my guest.

I have never seen Landstar rates, would be curious to see some...

But I can say I average $2+ per mile here on SNI Choice...

Hard to beat that when I pick my own loads, don't deal with any brokers, and all my tolls are paid...

But I'm always willing to learn about what other carriers can offer, so show us...

    Roll on..

We get all that stuff for free as well..Can't speak for b/t ins....I do have a question and I will lurk the LS threads to see if I can find the answer...Never pulled a flat or step, but would you be better off there having your own trailer on van or no?
