    $1.31?!?
If I ran at that average or even close to it I would have been long gone and I'm sure many on this forum would be also.
However if you run bad areas or do silly things out here you could easily do a lot worse than $1.31.

1.31 is probably close given the rates lately last year's average per ATBS for Schneider was 1.44 obviously some do better bUT some do alot worse.

Look at how many were on here talking about it a year ago and how few are still here.

I'd bet they're being really conservative on the failure rate I've heard 40% but they're not gonna be accurate or else most would up and leave orientation.

God luck it's possible to do well its just alot of work these days.

The point I made is that we are not bound by the agreement for any more than the 15 days that are required to terminate it. That's the same whether you choose to jump ship now or later. So for the early panickers, I would recommend at least hanging around to see if the sky was indeed falling. The way so many talk here about being such good business people, they should be able to sustain themselves through whatever down time beyond 15 days that is necessary to make a move. And the notice doesn't have to be 15 days. Just AT LEAST 15 days. It could be more than that.

Based on the rates I see on the board and too many newer IC's that can't run a business, I totally believe that $1.31 number especially if calculating all miles run not just loaded miles. The people who post on here and are successful are just a very small percentage of the drivers out there...i promise there are a lot of drivers out there that look at total revenue to the truck without factoring deadhead and freight zones.

Heck even in my own orientation class, half of them didn't even want to be bothered looking for loads that paid under $1000...Why do you think the boards are flooded with loads under a dollar? Somebody is running them

Yeah, I actually try to run the Midwest as much as possible. My nerves can't handle the Northeast anymore. Lol

I just got a load out of the northeast yesterday. I can only handle about 3 weeks of that region before I have to get out or start killing the 4 wheelers. Money is very good up there, just can't do it all the time is all.

    1.31x 2500 mi= $3275
    Truck payment $1000
    Fuel $2.90 / 6mpg = .48 x 2500mi = $1200

    3275-1000-1200= $1075

    1075 x.30% taxes= $752.50

Someone with little or no expense at home could make it work. Some will say that kind of money, I would stay company. Then you have some people would say it's ok.
