Very true... I may have had a few weeks like that but most of time I'm at least trying to stay above the$1.50 to $1.80 mark.. Not as easy as it once was but we also pay a lot less in fuel now so still getting the same money..
Last week kinda sucked (revenue wise) with cancelled loads, having the wife and dog along, plus trying to get specific home bound run (getting home usually don't pay well) was thinking I probably was at $1.31 for the week, but after checking it, here is what I got!..At 2487 all miles with $3741.77 in revenue to the truck.. Doing the math it came out to be a $1.50 plus a little change per mile to the truck..
But who knows! Maybe out of 2300 trucks, our over all average is down..
Not coming to Schneider at this time.

Fixed costs will probably be a little over $1000 when adding in Maintenence and insurance to your truck payment but you shouldn't be paying $2.90 in fuel and you should be getting much better than 6/gal -
Yes I padded those numbers.

1.31 a mile?? Lol

The other part of this that I realy think gets left out ...is you are STILL paying down a truck and if you save about 150 more a week at the end of 3 years you should be close to paying it off or have a very small note with a truck that hopefully has some serious warranty left on it...Today in class they stated the folowing: Schneider is bringing on 25 new IC's per week in 2016 every week....we are the most cost effective way to move freight for them due to the low turn over rate of the IC's...again I am just repeating what was said in class. Comming from the outside they have a ton of rules, but everyone I have met has been top quailty as far as,there staff...the workflow seems a little much....but its the best deal out there to learn how to be an o/o with steady freight. ..

When I did the math I figured I would have to make $1.60/mile to just break even.91B20H8 Thanks this. -
