Schneider is not forcing the IC to do anything. We still have an option, only they will charge a fee. That's how they still justify the 1099. I'm sure they know what they are doing.
And I'm thinking the original toll policy is still in place. They are not just going to say here, you pay now.Toomanybikes, Home_on_wheels and freightwipper Thank this. -
Anyways two things.. what Schneider SAYS and what they actually do are two different things.
How many times have you all gotten fined $50 for holding onto an MT trailer for a couple days when you went home? Just wondering cause it's never happened to me.
Not saying they will or won't do these but Schneider tells us a lot which is BS in reality a lot.
So we'll see what happens...
As far as this whole possible fine and trailer craziness if you book a load 100 miles away I'll will share my view based on my experience with that Schneider trying to pull trailer games on me.
In the past Schneider TRIED multiple times to make for go out of route to do free trailer shuttles for them and they failed each time I didn't want to do it.
When I called to beach them out I basically said "When I book a load I agree to preform the services listed, once you CHANGE the services that it's no longer what I agreed to do. Either change it back to what I agreed to do or pull me off the load".
Sometimes I flat out told them adding so & so amount of miles onto the load drops my rate per mile to this amount and if I knew that prior I wouldn't have booked the load.
If a load says drop and hook at so and so location then that's what I expect and agree to do.
If they don't want my empty trailer then don't list the load as dropping an MT there lol simple.
Anyways point is I don't play these stupid games, if they change what I agreed to do and it doesn't work in my best interest I basically tell Schneider to go screw themselves and find another driver to cover the load.
They have yet to pull me off a load when I've whipped it to them like that.
It's been months since they tried that BS on me so I'm thinking they gave up or at least I hope they did lol.Opus, Lone Ranger 13, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Yes. The agreement mentions an IC supplying a trailer. But I knowing the load board, there is just not enough profit in the amount of loads that load and unload live. You would be greatly limited. I am guessing 90% of the loads are a D&H at least on one side or the other.
freightwipper Thanks this. -
Here's my problem though...
When you CHOOSE to book a load it says do services preformed here and there.. going from here to there.
When I book a load based on the information they provided that's what I agreed to do, changing that basically voids what was services were listed that I agreed to do at least that's how I view it.
Schneider telling me "oh well this customer needs an MT more so than this one" well that's not my problem, I'm not a company driver lol. Pull me off the load and send a company driver to cover the load and shuttle the trailer then if you want it that way cause that's not what I booked. Oh no it's fine we'll remove that extra task.
Worked for me...mickimause Thanks this. -
rarely ever live load/unloads at both ends here -

I was fined $150 for having an empty that I dropped at a droplot. It all depends on your ICA!! Mine was a beach!!!!freightwipper Thanks this. -
While to a degree yes this is disappointing to me and it's more crap to put up with as long as Schneider keeps feeding us good paying loads I will suck it up.
However if Schneider starts screwing us on rates and I can't make good money anymore then I'm taking this truck to Landstar. Rate wise at the moment Landstar doesn't stand out from what I've seen drivers getting... but if Schneider starts screwing us with rates I'm out of here.
The only reason I put up with the POS trailers, screwed up customer service and stupid rules is because the rates at least for me have been good so far.
