Has anyone ever been turned down by a company due to school only giving state minimum hours... US Express turned me down because I only had 120 hours training they needed 160... Now I am stuck looking for another job that excepts newbies and won't turn me down

i thought there was a FEDERAL mimimum of 160 hours

evidently not.... because the states don't require a school as long as you can perform the duties and pass all the tests. Not sure though but now finding out differently I guess. My school is not a PDI school either not sure what that means

Thats scary 120 hours if never drove before

The only difference between 160 hr course and 120 is one more week of classroom, the behind the wheel time is the same. I was told that they recently made the change due to the curriculum was able to be covered in less time producing the same results on scores. I scored 94% on classroom tests and passed all BMV tests with flying colors. Just a piece of info. I thought I would pass on

PTDI means nothing, except to a few companies that believe that a PTDI accredited school teaches better than a non PTDI school. I haven't found any facts or statistics that validate that a PTDI school produces a better driver.
There are companies that require a PTDI school, as well as some training companies that are PTDI certified. Check their driver safety record and you'll easily see that all this PTDI crap means zilch. -
