I'm close to signing up with them for the cdl school and looking for opinions from the last year or two. Been hard to find anything much really.

Any help or experience would be nice.

My choices look like JP, Roehl, Knight.

All starter companies that will hire you fresh out of cdl school have their disadvantages. Poor home time, low wages, etc. They all suck, put your time in, gain experience, keep your record clean, don't hit anything, and move on.

If you are in their hiring area, depending on what type of running you want to do, you could look into Millis also. No company is evee going to be perfect but I had no real complaints during my time there.

Jim Palmer is one of the highest paying for a new cdl graduate; over .40 cpm plus accessorial pays. They pay an extra .05 cpm based on fuel savings.
You can run coast to coast or stay West.

I agree with Chinatown. Similar training to prime but with a much smaller company.

Once you finish training you can do the western 11 dry van for .45 cpm or otr refrigerated fleet for .40 plus fuel bonus.

I really enjoyed my time doing the western 11 with them. I think they are one of the better compnays to start out with.

APUs , inverters, 22" TV. Nice new dry van trailers and trucks.

Really? If you're willing to strap Melton starts newbies at .43

As far as Jim Palmer, I was really interested. Once I called, I just asked if you can stay out for a while and stack up a long hometime stay. Immediately the recruiter said "Nope oh well we're not right for you thanks". I said that's not super important but he still brushed me off and said look elsewhere. Still bothers me with emails though.

No offense but .40 is expected in flatbed, you do a lot more work that you are not paid for so the way they make up for it often is a higher cpm. Maverick students go from .47-.53 , higher otr with 6 months. If you are flatbed you should look at them. Mav also pays for tarping and stops. I assumed that with Jim Palmer it was dry van thus .40 was more impressive. Yeah , he did not sound so energetic or friendly in his replies, sorry about that.
