Hello,
I am in the process of getting hired. The last document the company needs is my accident report from a few years ago. On this report it mentions that I was arrested for a dui, I was staggering, smelled like alcohol etc. It sounds pretty brutal. Later on I was proven not guilty for the dui, but I still have this shady looking accident report preventing me from getting in the door to a lot of big "training" companies. This specific time, I have scanned the accident report and erased some of the more brutal parts. Now my question.
Are trucking companies verify accident reports by obtaining a second copy?
Do they send them to insurance companies and if so will they look more thoroughly at them?
Basically will I get caught?
Please to not comment on my lack of integrity or moral defficiences. I am 23 years old, responsible enough, need a job desperately and don't have time to wait on my knees for someone to grant me a "second chance".
Thanks in advance,
Not Guilty, but Accident Report Looks Bad

This would be the deal sealer for me. You submitted an altered document, I wouldn't touch you. Makes you look more guilty than you are. Submit the accident report and whatever document you have that proves you not guilty. That is the route to go.billard1234 Thanks this. -
Never, never, never alter an official report!!! Even if you're not guilty, it looks like you are!
Yes, companies will gain their own reports, especially if it appears that you altered your copy before submitting it. When they discover the alteration, YOU will now have to deal with not just the accident report but also falsifying an application. Possibly even fraud charges, depending on how far the company wants to push it. Official documents cannot be altered.
If the report is incorrect, you need to contact an attorney, and have corrections submitted through the appropriate clerk of courts.billard1234 Thanks this. -
If the only companies you are applying at are "training" companies, your not out much if they do catch it. Let us know if this works for you but don't tell nobody where your working if you get the job.

Yes, thank you. I've decided against it, though my anger towards these companies remains. So no lessons learned, sorry guys. (No Regrets for me later either). Cheers

What those before me have said. By altering that report you look guilty as hell! Not only that but it brings your morals and integrity into question. I #### sure wouldn't hire you based off that alone, whether you were guilty or not.
