Phones are most certainly more dangerous than recreational pot. If I saw a driver with ear buds around his neck he would be fired. With that being said I would fire said driver if he smoked weed too. See how this works? It's just the simple things. Next thing you know, your walking around in pajamas, wearing flip flops, with a half grown rediculous looking two week beard wondering what happened. Its true. Seen it happen.

So, were you at a customer unloading? Cause most of the shippers and receivers have a no phone policy. If so, then it is more than just violating a company policy, it’s actually a safety violation.

To the op, no don't worry about it but it begs the question are you like three years old and need to play with something?

Put the phone somewhere you can't get at it when you are working, there is nothing other than a zombie apocalypse that you need to know about while you are working.

    Probably about 7-8 years ago.
1st, they aren't a training company, which raises their stock immensely. They require 1 year, which of course isn't a lot, but it eliminates most awful drivers.
2nd, their pay is decent compared to other megas
JB Hunt is the best of the megas.

Wouldn't that be great? I knew a driver that napped in the cab while his dry bulk tanker unloaded. He said the change in the pump noise or the pop-off valve when it ran empty would always wake him up.
He had a hose blow out while unloading cement. About five tons of powder went out on the ground and into the air. He didn't wake up until the plant guys were beating on his door.
    I don't know where he's working now.
